My name is Bennett David. I am an active participant in the Boy Scouts of America, where I have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. I have frequently attended troop events and service projects, and earned over 85 merit badges. I am a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s national honor society. I have earned my lifeguard and CPR certification.
I am currently working to earn the William T. Hornaday Silver Medal, the most valuable conservation award in Boy Scouts. In the past eighty years, approximately 1,100 have been awarded. To earn this award, I must complete four large conservation projects and earn a large number of conservation-related merit badges. To read more about the award, click here.
I designed this website as a part of the promotion process for my first project, an effort to create birdhouses for a species of bird called the brown-headed nuthatch in North Carolina. The brown-headed nuthatch, a tiny bird that lives in the southeast, has a population that is in decline.
