Chapel Hill, NC: Audubon NC Aims for 10,000 Nuthatch Nest Boxes by 2015

From the official NC Audubon site:

"The mission of the National Audubon Society's North Carolina State Office is to help conserve and restore the North Carolina habitats we share with all wildlife, focusing on the needs of birds. Audubon North Carolina achieves its mission through a blend of science-based research and conservation, education and outreach, and advocacy. The National Audubon Society has its roots in North Carolina and its history has always been linked to a passionate concern for birds, other wildlife and their habitats."

NC Audubon's Bird-Friendly Communities has set the goal to help create 10,000 new nest boxes for nuthatches in North Carolina by the beginning of 2015. With the help of bird enthusiasts, Boy Scouts, students, and just common people, they are well on their way to achieving this goal.
